According to a report released by the Fruit Branch of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal Husbandry, my country's apple export volume will continue to remain at a high level of more than one million tons in 2021, and will continue to grow compared with the same period last year. According to the statistics of China Customs, the total export volume of apples in my country last year was 1.078 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.9%, and the apple export value reached 1.43 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 1.4%. The main reason for the decline in export value is the poor domestic sales of apples in my country in the first half of the year, and the large inventory of apples, resulting in a large number of apples that can only be sold to overseas markets at lower prices in the later period.

Statistics show that in 2021, my country's total export volume of various fruits will be 3.546 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.3%, and the total export volume will be US$5.43 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 14.9%. Among them, apple still ranks first in my country's export fruit, and its export volume and export value account for 30% and 26% of my country's annual fruit export volume and total value respectively. In terms of the export destinations of apples, Vietnam, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand are the main markets for my country's apple exports. Among them, the export volume to Vietnam and Indonesia has increased significantly compared with the same period of last year, increasing by 12.6% and 12.6% respectively. 19.4%, exports to Bangladesh and Thailand were basically the same as last year, and the Philippines was down 4.5% year-on-year.

From the perspective of domestic exports, in 2021, the main provinces for my country's apple export are Shandong, Yunnan, Gansu, Liaoning, Shaanxi, and Henan, with exports accounting for 93.6% of the country's total apple exports, of which Shandong is the largest apple exporting province. The proportion is 61%, followed by Yunnan Province, accounting for 17%, Gansu and Liaoning accounting for 5%, and Shaanxi and Henan accounting for 3%. Compared with the same period of last year, the export volume of Shandong, Gansu and Henan increased by 6%, 2% and 4% respectively, while that of Yunnan, Liaoning and Shaanxi decreased by 7%, 15% and 10% respectively.

In terms of apple imports, my country's total apple imports in 2021 will be 68,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.5%, and the import value will be US$150 million, a year-on-year increase of 9.0%. Statistics show that in 2021, my country's imported apples will mainly come from New Zealand, with an import volume of 39,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.6%, and an import value of US$110 million, a year-on-year increase of 16%. The proportion reached 70.8%. In addition, last year, my country's apple imports from South Africa increased by 64% year-on-year, while apple imports from the United States, Chile and other countries fell by 7% to 50% year-on-year.
